Lancashire Wyreside

Now that internet is restored at home (we are currently decorating the living room and everything has been off for a couple of days), I wanted to belatedly highlight the hard work that has been put in by Sue White, our candidate, and the work by the campaign team headed up by Jake Welsh. I'll update with the result once that comes in.

Showing Early Promise

Usually when I go doorknocking on a Saturday morning, it is with child number two, who at six months just falls asleep for an hour or so as I push him around. However, number one son has become increasingly inquisitive about "Daddy doing politics" so yesterday both boys came out with me in St Michaels ward.

Seamus showed good doorknocking potential once he got the hang of it, and tried to join in the conversations...

"You any problems lady?"
"We fix problems."

Add in a hello and goodbye and he is better than some opposition canvassers I've heard about. All that and not quite 3 years old. Still, I won't be signing up for party membership just yet. That would mean he could vote in internal elections, and he probably isn't old enough to read the literature from the different candidates just yet. However, I have heard that sort of thing has been done within another party in Liverpool, apparently. I imagine it is quite helpful when it comes to selection battles!
